STANDARD TUNING
A standard tuning keeps your piano sounding clear, balanced, and in proper pitch. Over time, humidity and seasonal changes naturally cause strings to drift out of tune. This service carefully adjusts each string so the piano sounds harmonious across all registers. This is ideal for regularly played pianos to maintain consistent sound quality.
PITCH RAISE
A pitch raise is needed when a piano has dropped significantly below standard tuning, often after years of neglect. Before fine tuning can be done, the overall string tension must first be brought back up safely. This process restores the instrument closer to proper pitch so it can hold tuning correctly. It's the essential first step before a full tuning on severely out-of-tune pianos.
Regulation
Regulation focuses on the internal mechanics of the piano, ensuring the keys and action respond smoothly and evenly. Over time, parts shift, wear down, or become uneven, affecting touch and performance. This service adjusts the timing, spacing, and responsiveness of the action components. The result is a more consistent feel and improved control while playing.
RRC&T
Recondition, Regulation, Clean and Tune
RRC&T is a complete inside out service designed for pianos that need deep restoration. It includes cleaning, reconditioning worn parts, full regulation, and precision tuning to bring the instrument back to life. This is ideal for older or heavily neglected pianos that need more than just tuning. It restores both sound quality and playability in a comprehensive way.
REPAIRS
The piano is a relatively complex instrument with thousands of moving parts. Even with routine maintenance, things occasionally fail. Sticking keys, a damper that is ringing out, even a squeaky pedal can make the playing experience less than enjoyable. Broken benches and wires, bridges and soundboards all need repair at one time or another. Regardless of the problem, I can fix it.
Piano Evaluations
Buying a piano is a big investment. Make sure you know what you're getting. I offer services to help evaluate the performance potential of a piano you're considering for purchase. A typical on- site assessment takes around 30 minutes. During this time, I evaluate the key structural and mechanical elements of the instrument, providing you with an in- depth understanding of its condition along with whatever work may need to be done. Please note, this inspection does not include appraisal or value estimate.
